My name is Jamie. I've created this LJ as a way to connect with people who share more of my interests. I'm 19, graduated high school early, and attend the University of Kentucky. I am a pre-law student, poltical science major, and hope to someday transfer to George Washington University in Washington DC. Hence the username.

I live in Kentucky, but I'm from New York. I visit family there often and love the city. I am a HUGE New York Mets fan, something which is much more rewarding now then it used to be. I love to watch baseball, and like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable about it. My favorite Mets player is Carlos Beltran.

I'm a passionate Democrat, agnostic, and am interested in politics, international relations, and ancient history. I am increasingly alarmed at the path my country is taking. I enjoy reading and going shopping with my friends for that ever elusive perfect outfit. My loves include The Lord of the Rings, myths and legends, ice skating, talking on the phone, and endlessly re-arranging my room. :) Favorites include the Fox drama House, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and anything with Viggo Mortensen in it; I've a bit of an Aragorn/Viggo obsession. ;) I read something called "fanfiction". Fanfictions are stories posted on the internet in which amateur writers create stories in established fictional universes, such as Lord of the Rings. Most of my time online is spent reading, and occasionally writing fanfiction.
